ALBION, NE- The Boone County Fair kicks off this weekend and a huge event comes to Boone County Raceway this Sunday with the 2020 Fair Race. On the card with be the return of the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series, along with IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.
This is the third year in a row the Boone County Raceway has hosted the SLMR during the fair. Last year, former track champion Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, NE held off a late charge from Multi-Time Champion Kyle Berck. Nick Deal, Cory Dumpert, and Bill Leighton rounded out the top 5. Coming into Sunday, Bill Leighton of Lavista, NE holds a tight point advantage over Tad Pospisil and Kyle Berck. While there will be a number of regulars making the trek, we are sure to see a number of local competitors take to the high-banks as well. Two years ago it was local runner Jim Johnson besting a huge field to pick up his first win with the Malvern Bank Super Late Models.
The SLMR are not the only ones who will be showcasing their talents. The IMCA Stock Cars will be competing for the $1,000 prize and valuable track and IMCA points along with the IMCA Hobby Stocks who will be competing for $400 to win along with track and IMCA points. All three class winners will receive a 4 foot tall trophy from Loco's Designer T's and More.
